Urbanlife Summer Youth Programme

Are you interested in taonga, museums, art and culture? Are you aged 15-24 and passionate about sharing a strong youth voice? Looking for something challenging and inspiring to do over the summer? ​

Get a taste of what your future could be!

The Urbanlife Summer Youth Programme is an interactive intensive experience for Auckland youth (15-24 years) to explore Auckland Museum through a series of back of house tours and creative workshops with our own experts and creative experts including Aotearoa Graffiti Crew TMD’s Benjamin Work, master of collage Peter Madden, visual artist Nikau Hindin and musician Bailey Wiley.

Your application should include:

  • Your full name, age and contact phone number
  • Your CV as an attachment
  • A creative piece that tells the story of an experience you have had with a museum. This can be a written piece (no more than 150 words), or an audio or video clip (send us the link to where the clip is hosted eg. YouTube).

If your application is successful, you can apply for a travel allowance to make it easier for you to join us!

Gallipoli in Minecraft at the Auckland Museum

Until January 2016 at the Auckland Museum (member of the WFFM in New Zealand) hosts “Gallipoli in Minecraft”, an exhibition featuring the interactive world of Minecraft® and incredible objects from the Museum’s collections. Minecraft® is a hugely popular online game that is all about breaking and placing blocks and over the past year, students from Alfriston College have re-created the landscape of 1915 Gallipoli in the virtual reality!

75 years Air New Zealand exhibition at the Auckland War Memorial Museum

If you’re looking for an incredible historic journey throught the years of flighting this exposition is the right place to go.
